The 1998 meeting was the first and was held when the name of the email list was the South Eastern Model Railroad Association or SEMRA. The idea for the meeting was to bring the people who had an interest in modeling southeastern railroads together for a face-to-face meeting where each could share their models, their knowledge and their experiences as modelers. The meeting included a display of 502 southeastern railroad models and a number of workshops where modelers displayed techniques and tips. Jim Six's weathering workshop went on most of the afternoon!
A great time was had by all, and the group knew we had a good thing! We've had a volunteer-based annual get together every year since!
