Info on photos: ...these imperial sized modules are photographed by Tom Winlow and the NMRA BR D&H team is John Levesley (lumber source), Tom Winlow (jig assembler), Phil Clark (track layer), Iain Bell (wiring), Roger Morris (consultant). The current project is metric sized, team is Phil Clark (lumber source & module final assembly), James Taylor (track laying, DCC wiring, scenic work), members of local club (consultants). ... the four metric sized modules, one metre by half metre, constructed from 4mm ply. Ends are 18mm ply as they take the M8 by 75 bolts for adjacent module attachment and have the metal baseboard alignment dowels. The bolts screw into tee-nuts. The underneath is cross braced with more 10cm 4 mm ply with holes for cables to run through. Adjacent module connectivity is an area I have not done yet, probably multi-pin 5 amp stuff from AMP or similar. There will be Digitrax LocoNet connectivity. Hand holds are the white pipes underneath. Two modules bolted face to face for transport mean entire assembly should be less than thirty pounds weight. Track is Peco Streamline 75. Points are same in medium radius in left or right hand. Point motors would be Peco DCC compatible PL-10W, best deal I found is 25 for 96.58 gbp on http://www.holtmodelrailways.co.uk/O83hmrOpeco100tck.htm tech ref for PL-10W is http://www.loystoys.com/peco-pl10w.html I want several DCC turnout modules. Best deal seems to be UK manufactured CML thirty quid (gbp) kit. Methinks I would prefer one that is factory assembled and tested, for a DAC10 accessory decoder on http://www.cmlelectronics.co.uk/products/dac10.htm As you might imagine, I need to convince the money people here. Local club is sort of convinced that DCC Is the way to go. I am certain, that without a person at other end of yard to shout at to change the manual points, it won't work for me. I would be perched on a bar stool at one end of yard and would want DCC for the turnouts.
